From I-90 Westbound, take Exit 31 onto I-790.

From there you need to get up Rte. 5 to Rte. 49, follow West to Griffiss AFB.

DIRECTIONS per DJ (5/2001)

Take 90 west from Albany to exit 31 Utica.
After toll booth, bear right and turn right onto Genesee St.
Turn right at traffic light onto Herkimer Rd.
Almost immediately, turn right onto the on ramp for I-790.
Follow signs to "Rome", and "Route 49".  DO NOT take Routes 8 and 12.
After about 1/5 to 2 miles, you will have to exit the ramp system and turn left at the traffic light onto Route 49.
Proceed 10 miles along Rt 49 to the Griffiss Industrial Park exit.
Once on the ramp, bear left to Griffiss.
Proceed along the access road for approx. 1.5 miles.
You will arrive at an intersection where you can go right or left with the airfield directly in front of you.  Turn LEFT.
Proceed approx. 1/4 mile and turn right at the B52 bomber.
Proceed approx. 1/8 mile and turn right at the gate.  You will now be on the taxiway.

To Griffiss from the east only (older directions):

I-90 west to Utica, exit 31.  Thru toll booth, bear right, take right onto Genesee Street.

Take next right at light onto Herkimer Rd.

Take next right onto ramp for ??? highway (Route 290?).

Go about 1/5 to 2 miles west following signs for Route 49, Rome.

At traffic light turn left onto Route 49, to Rome.

Go about 10 miles to exit for Griffiss (clearly marked).

The ramp splits so bear left up the ramp.

Now you'll be on the former Air Force base reservation.

Go about 1 mile and the road bears sharply left.

Go another mile past the traffic light.

You will see a softball field almost directly in front of you.

For the Divisionals, we're hoping you'll turn right, left, right thru gate to the large airplane paddock.

For regional events you'll turn left, go about 0.4 mile and turn left at the full size B52.

Go about 0.2 mile and turn right into the gate for the "taxiway" (it looks like a wide runway to most of us).
