The New England 1000, 1998 edition!

Class 3 consisted of 5 Jaguars and a Corvette. The Jags took the first 5 places. Here we see the 2nd and 3rd place teams at the last checkpoint. On the left, Chris Sas and Philip Morgan in the 1960 XK150 and joining them John Darack and Spencer Guder in their 1958 version. Good show! A 1952 Jaguar XK120C Proteus (replicar) with Mike Griffin and his wife Jill took first place honors.

Charles and Chuck Goolsbee pull up alongside CatieCat in their 1965 XKE. Frank and I took their car for a short drive. Great car! C&C finished first in their class with 3 points total.

Helene Wickett and John Burton (and the 1967 Lotus Europa Series 1) are plotting their eventual win of the 1998 event. I can't get angry loosing to them (at least not in public)!

Our arch-rival in the 1997 event (where both teams scored 2 identical 1 point checkpoint penalties), Peter Efros, receives the 5-year competitor award, a framed picture of them in action in the 1997 event.

Still crazy after all these years, and still best friends. Frank took the book this year, I got the big glass vase. I think I have enough pennies to fill it!

The over-all winners with 0 (zero) penalty points are Helene Wickett and John Burton who drove in a 1967 Lotus Europa Series 1.

How are we going to get all this in an XKE?

Everything in the previous picture, except the luggage cart, is inside! I can't move, but oh, well.
